Every Child Matters, No Matter Where They Live

We go where the need is greatest, working in 32 districts to help children grow up healthy, educated, skilled and safe.

Our development and humanitarian programs are implemented in collaboration with 9 local partner organizations spread across 32 districts and tailored to each community’s culture and context to ensure relevance, ownership, and long-term sustainability. By listening to children, youth, families, and community leaders, we co-create solutions that address their unique needs and aspirations.

In collaboration with government entities and other like-minded organizations, we also implement national advocacy initiatives for the realization of child rights. These efforts are aligned with national priorities, helping to drive systemic change that uplifts and protects every child. ChildFund operates in the following districts:

When Communities Lead, Change Is Lasting

Community development is central to ChildFund’s mission to improve children’s well-being. Our programs are designed to engage local communities and key stakeholders in addressing the most pressing needs of both children and their surroundings. By involving those who know the challenges best, we ensure that our initiatives are locally led and impactful. As communities grow more self-sufficient, we shift our focus to areas that need greater support. Together, child by child and community by community, we co-create environments where every child can thrive—growing up healthy, educated, skilled, and safe.

Kangai Health Centre III, severely affected by heavy rainstorm that blew off the roof of the Outpatient Department (OPD) in 2022. The damage disrupted service delivery, forcing health workers to operate in unsafe and overcrowded conditions.

ChildFund, in partnership with its local partner, Lango Child and Community Development Federation, refurbished and reconstructed the Outpatient Department (OPD) block at Kangai Health Centre. The renovated facility was equipped with solar panels to ensure a reliable power supply.

‘‘When heavy rains destroyed our Outpatient Department (OPD) block in 2022, we were forced to operate under tents and tree shades and this made us lose patients and vital services in the process. This block served several departments including the laboratory, waiting, clerking and immunisation and refrigeration areas as well as our main store, pharmacy and treatment area. But thanks to ChildFund’s timely support, we now have the best OPD roof in the whole of Dokolo district, a new delivery bed and equipment that has enabled us deliver mothers safely. The face lift also restored confidence in our facility and our monthly patient numbers have more than doubled from 1,000 to 2,500. We are truly and deeply grateful.’’
